IBM new security technology “SecureBlue”
IBM researchers have developed a new technology that will toughen the security of consumer products, medical devices, defense systems and digital media. Codenamed “SecureBlue,’” the new approach brings mainframe-inspired security typically only available in data centers.
SecureBlue protects the confidentiality and integrity of information on a device through encryption, encoding it to prevent unauthorized use.
SecureBlue can be built into a microprocessor chip, protecting the security of the chip and other parts of a microprocessor-based device. Because it’s hardware-based, it’s more resistant to reverse-engineering and tampering.
